Frequently asked questions

What changed when TSS became Skills in Demand?

The 482 was restructured into Specialist, Core and Labour Agreement streams with a single CSOL occupation list, reduced experience requirement (1 year), and a clearer 186 pathway after two years with the sponsor.

Can a 482 lead to permanent residency?

Yes. After two years of sponsored employment (in the last three), the 186 Temporary Residence Transition stream is available, provided the nomination and salary requirements are met.
